Lost in my own kitchen

If you follow this blog, you know we just moved. It was a big move. Not just across town, but from all the way north to all the way north. From Wisconsin to Texas. Talk about adjustments!

We have been here 3 weeks and I am still looking for things. I have most of my kitchen all situated, but…

I go to look for a spoon and have to stop and think. Where did I put them? It’s like retraining my brain. I just walked half way across the kitchen before I realized the spoons were in the drawer that was right where I started.

Yes, I was a bit lost in my very own kitchen. Give it up, it happens. Until we know where everything is, without a doubt, then we will seem a bit lost and confused.

It’s the same thing with working at home. Sometimes we wandering around looking for the right tool, the right network, the right something. We have to get used to the environment. We have to learn where things are. We have to learn who to make connections with and how the community works.

Working from home should be about networking. Yes, you are working from home, but you are not there alone. People are only a phone call or an internet connection away. Find the connections, find out how others do it, and then find that you know where all your tools are safely stored in your kitchen, I mean home office!
