I will let you in on a little secret, but you have to promise not to tell anyone, k?
I have committed. No, I didn’t say I was being committed, I said I committed. To what? Well … I am signed up to do NutriSystem. Now I know there are a lot of people for the pros and cons for this. I get that it is not an organic, whole food diet, but it is a diet, and I need serious help. I need to lose this weight I am carrying around with me.
I am committing to healthier eating habits. I have opted for the weekends off programs. This way I can still cook whole foods and the things that I like on the weekend, but I will be used to eating the smaller portions.
This is a big step for me. Exercise alone is not working in helping to lose weight. With the diet and the exercise I know by March I will be a lot less of the woman I am now! So you can join my cheering squad if you like. I will need all the encouragement I can get!

As you can judge by the title of this site I am a WAHM (ie Work At Home Mom). For years I resisted the urge to go back to having a “mommy blog”. Let’s face it, my kids are all bigger, or at least they think they are and I do want to separate my business from my kids. That isn’t always possible.
Why do I work at home? Well because I want to stay at home with my kids. We homeschool so a job and homeschooling just isn’t feasible, or at least not without a lot of sacrifice. So I work from home.
I do find myself spending a lot of time working on things that I may enjoy, but take up a lot of my time because I just don’t know how to do them well, or simply just don’t do it often enough to learn. My blog layout for one. This one is ok, but it isn’t how I want it and will continue to get tweaked and tortured until I get it where I want, but it is my “mommy blog” so I am ok with that.
Not so much my business blog. So yesterday I let go of it. I hired a VA. I told her I wanted an updated look. That I wanted clean simple lines. That I wanted the color red, sorry Denise. She is going to tweak it and make sure it is SEO. I have to admit I am pretty excited. And not only that, I don’t have to worry about it anymore. It is a burden that is lifted off my shoulders so I can concentrate on other work!
So, I know, you may be saying but that cost you money? Well to be quite honest I have spent money other places that didn’t get me the same thing. I think that this is a great investment.
Think of it this way … if you were in an office, and you were in charge, you wouldn’t be doing everything yourself. You wouldn’t be doing the busy stuff, you’d be concentrating on the things YOU were good at, while others concentrated on the things they were good at.
Outsourcing lets you concentrate on what makes the most sense of your time. Just like when you outsource your kids to do the dishes or the laundry or to clean their rooms. Learn to outsource with your business as well.
I know we try but we are not all superwomen! Try it I know you will see the production in it!

Well what a day it has been! I want to tell you this week I am super focused! You should take a look at my business blog to see all the great things that I have going on there! I have a brand new article available on how to market your business and yourself online that is available to those who give me their emails to send it too. I am working on an e-book along the marketing line. I have a team working on putting together great PLR packets. That is set to launch October 15th. I am really excited about that. And I am set to open up for new clients who want to do article marketing but they just can’t seem to find the time, or just want to outsource that task.
Whew that is a lot going on now isn’t it? Well my focus has gotten very narrowed. While that may seem like a very varied list it all has to do with promoting my writing business. I am not trying to go after any more than that at the moment. I am also learning to increase my network and to get other people to help me write. That has taken a ton off my shoulders and hopefully will bring in more to my bottom line
Yippee! I like the sounds of that!
Another thing that is helping my focus? Well that is changing my eating habits and getting into the habit of exercising. Now I know … Thinking about exercising makes some of just tired to begin with doesn’t it? Well you may be a bit tired muscle wise after your workout your brain is going 10 times faster than it was before you started. I can’t say enough about how much working out has improved my focus and my productivity.
Being held accountable isn’t too shabby either. I always knew there were great resources in the work at home community, but I am blown away by the support that is there for the “lose the computer butt challenge.” And I am not talking about just women that are sitting around, there are men in the group as well, not to mention the virtual persona trainer is gentleman. You can join us at the link below to get the same great results with us. Its a lot of fun. Come on now … you know you have 2 blocks of 10 minutes each day that you can get out of that chair and exercise!

I have also changed how I am eating. I have blogged how I am giving up eating after 7PM … well except on Tuesday, that is dance day and we don’t get home until 7PM. I have also given up sodas. I have slipped on that one twice now, but am doing really good. This week I have made another change. We are taking our dinner, our big meal at noon instead of in the evening. I do my workout at 10, I eat a big meal at 12 or 1, the cardio workout is about 3 and then a small light meal at 5. I really hope that will make a difference on the poundage. No I still haven’t stepped on the scall this week. You won’t find out how I am doing until Monday, and only then if my plan is succesful!
Well I need to get back on schedule, my blogging block of time is coming to an end. Next up is getting the schoolwork ready for tomorrow. You all have a wonderful day!!!
